history
Belladonna surrounded her home and essentially her childhood. She could remember the beautiful dark berries climbing up the walls, the crazed laughs, and the poisonous temptations. It was a dark night filled with rain on a countryside village that the wails of pain of a new mother mingled with that of a newborn child. It was that mother that delivered, alone in her bed -- father absent and despair settling in. She could never take care of this thing. A monster produced from adultery and violation. However as much as the child she held reminded her of her sins, she could not bring to end it. The belladonna berries tasted delightful that night.
Amaya was her name, and it was not a common one in her small village. She was sure it was supposed to be "Anya," something more common but she liked Amaya more. It was something foreign. As a child she remembered her mother looking in the distance from the openings of the cottage, a faraway look in her eyes and freshly picked berries, as dark as the night, in her lap. She was told to never eat the berries but her mother was certainly content with them.
The village did not like them. Monster, she heard her mother mutter in her dreamy state when she had asked why. It set her mind to wander on why. They were so different from them -- no wings, no scales, or tails -- weren't they the monstrous ones? Despite there being no food to eat in their home, Amaya still did not let the berries of the belladonna tempt her like they had her mother.
As she grew, her curiosity took root. She began to explore her surroundings, mainly around the small village that settled not too far from her home. She observed these monsters, with their forms too similar to her own. Humans, they called themselves. She would sneak about, her identity concealed from everyone. As she grew so did her mother's delusions by the belladonna berries and although Amaya did love her mother, the woman in return grew more confrontational. She knew of her mother's scorn towards her -- a bastard of a daughter, a monster, a reminder of the man who took everything away from her. Many villagers would see the young girl strolling along littered in occasional scratches and bruises. It took one for it to stop. A young admirer promised her of making her life better. He was a lord, doted by many and already married. A mistress Amaya became to a human, but he treated her as,if she was so much more. Flowers, finest meals, and gorgeous clothing adorned each day. It was natural for envy to be harbored towards her, a nobody (and unknown to them, a monster), who had their beloved lord's attention. It took one instant of a poisoned meal given to her for it to be taken away. Instead of cries of joy at the survival of their lady, shouts of Monster! Demon! Witch! were heard instead.
Overcomes with anger, the dragon did what any of her kind did best -- poison. It was that night that the belladonna plants that invaded her childhood finally broke her down, she create a poison for those who scorned her, dismissed her in any way. Her lover was the only exception to her tirade. She quickly fled afterwards.
She lived many lives after that -- she always found her liking to the luxurious sides of life living as a wife of a big name. Maybe it was to recreate the happiness she felt many years ago before. The dragon made sure to keep her riches in tow as well, becoming a widow each time from her husbands' "sudden" death. She was like the belladonna plant, beautiful and tempting yet venomous. She adopted many names like Anastasia, Lilith, Lila, Nisha; her favorite identity was probably Persephone Nyx, the wife of a dreary man. For even though he was the most kindest and godliest among men despite the unlikable reputation that lingered about with him. And she was like his queen. Maybe it wasn't much of a lie, the dragon She surely did grow fond of her husband unlike many others, his heart was as pure as her first love's. But like humans, her identity had to stage an end. Persephone's was by a poisoned pomegranate.
It took many years for her to settle her adventures in a quaint town known as Kinau -- a place where she didn't have fear over being herself (well, partially. Being a dragon wasn't such a shock now. She just had to keep the history of being such a black widow a secret). She had started with her nickname, Amaya, and kept her beloved surname Nyx. Her shop is quiet and quaint, filled with aromas and plants. She lives a quieter life. It's different from before.
But belladonna climbs the walls outside of her shop and she can't help but be reminded of home.
misc.
》Her shop carries teas, herbal medicine, oils, and lotions. Essentially anything that can be made from plants she can make and sell. She's specialized in making concoctions from her darling plants. Many years of practice, after all.
》She has a small tiara accessory that she adores. It's an old gift from one of her many husbands. She wears it on and off.
》She doesn't keep up with dates well. She's actually not sure on what exact year she was born in. Amaya finds it troublesome to even keep track
》Her collection is made up of plants, black clothing, accessories, and makeup. Plants can be of her mother's fault as she was a green dragon. It rinds her of her mother, but in a more positive light.
》She had a lot of occupations, outside of being a noble and a mistress in her lifetime.
