Welcome to the supernatural creature's haven, Kinau. Kinau is a fictitious town on the O'ahu island of Hawaii. Why supernaturals have congregated in the island city is still unknown, but the inhabitants, human and supernatural alike, are learning to adjust to their new reality.
This site aims for a supernatural spin on a slice-of-life city, complete with an academy and college to ensure everyone has a place here.
Events
the valentines dance is open to all. staff will post a starting thread and you can post an entry or make a thread of your own. the dance will take place near the beach. its all outdoors with the dance floor being in large pavilion.
for those that show up without a date. fret not. we have a little sign up sheet for blind dates.
if you don't want your character to participate in the blind date, don't worry they can still be part of the dance.
apart from the dance there will be food/drinks and of course access to the beach.

01/29 we have a new skin! a new species and are now accepting gradeschoolers incase anyone feels like making younger characters!
to lie beside my romeo, oh what a wicked way to go
a small yawn escaped her lips as she continued her walk. there were times escaping to ones room wasn't enough. she liked to come out here. sure the whole island was beautiful, but natasha had her favorite spot. if she wanted to she could of let her wings take here there, but even then walking was good exercise.
she quickened her pace once she drew near. despite it being her favorite place, that didn't always mean someone would find it now and then. currently the spot was all hers. not a soul in sight she made her way towards the edge of the water. she sat down and began to rummage through her bag. out of all the things she could of studied, art wasn't one of them. she enjoyed it, but she could never see herself as an artist.
she believed her art was rather simple. art was suppose to make you wonder and feel something. she sighed softly as she flipped to a blank page in her sketch book. she stared out at the scene. the cool water cascading down. the rainbows the water created when the sunlight peeked through the leaves of the trees. she decided to work with soft pastels. she wasn't sure where to start.

She wouldn't be alone for very long. Lily happened by this place a while ago back when she first came to town and was exploring a little bit. This spot became one of her favorite swimming spots. She would notice the other girl sitting at the waters edge a small smile would form on her face noticing someone else. She would walk towards them tell she was fairly close. "Hello~ What brings you here today?"She would chirp happily at the girl. Her ears perked up in a happy manner and her tail shifting back and forth. Lily would place her bag on the ground as she asked her question.

she had assumed she was alone. maybe her mind was playing tricks on her. or maybe the girl just happened to arrive. that was the most logical. she shook her head as if to remove those foolish thoughts."hey there."tasha greeted with a slight head nod.
the girl seemed rather happy. it seemed this place wasn't just her happy place. the girl seemed to share the spot as well. that was fine with her. honestly this area was beautiful."me?"there she went again lost in her own thoughts. she held up her sketch pad."i figured i'd so some sketching. how about you?"

The young girl would clap her hands together happily giving a soft grin before speaking. "Oh me? Well this is a wonderful swimming spot."She would grin just a tad bit more looking at the girls drawing pad just a little bit. "But I wouldn't want to bother you while you draw~"She would give a small light pause "So I may come back later or something."She didn't like the idea of having to walk home just to walk all the way back here in a few hours. But at the same time she didn't want to bother the other girl.Her ears would flatten just a little bit at the thought as her tail stopped waging so fast.

duh. that would make sense. she scolded herself."oh of course."she said with a smile. she figured both would do their own thing."it really is a lovely spot." though at the moment she wasn't sure what she was going to draw. sure she could draw the waterfall but she wanted to draw something different.
natasha laughed softly and shook her head."you won't bother me i promise. i haven't even started."she told her as natasha brushed the blank page free from debris."the place is big enough for both of us. so don't let my sketching stop you from having fun."she told the girl with a nod.

She would give an overly happy smile."Okay! if your sure it wont bother you."She would give an overly happy smile before going over to the water and taking off her saddles and dipping her foot into the water feeling how cool it was. After a moment of this she would slide off her dress she had over her swimwear and gently go into the water and start to swim near the water fall its self clearly enjoying the warm water and the soothing noise of the water fall almost completely drowning out any sound though she could hear if the other girl yelled at her loud enough or if someone else where to yell. She would occasionally glace over at the girl to see if she was drawing or well anything.

she shook her head."unless you're splashing water at me. no, it won't bother me."she told her honestly."please don't get my stuff wet."she asked with a smile on her face. she didn't care if the girl accidentally splashed and soaked natasha. her things, that would be a different story.
half of her art utensils would melt. as they were not suppose to touch water. let alone the sketches she already had done would get ruined if her sketch book would to be soaked. she brushed lose strand of her green hair out of her face."im natasha by the way."
it wouldn't be long before the girl stripped down and headed into the water. she couldn't help but watch her swim around. laughing softly before getting back to her sketch book. seeing the girl under the water fall gave her an idea. with the grey pastel she started to draw the rocks.

Lily would smile and watch her draw from the water before realizing she never even gave the girl her name. She would take a small deep breath and speak loud enough to be heard over the water fall. "Oh my name is lily by the way! nice to meet you"She would smirk just a little bit before diving under the water and coming back up. Her hair and tall fox ears would be soaking wet but she would not care in fact she enjoyed this feeling. Her ears would perk up just a bit to knock off part of the water as she floated under the waterfall relaxing happily.

she continued to shade the rocks before moving on to the next color. it wasn't an exact replica of the water fall, but then again she was just getting inspiration from it. she added the green foliage. vines laying on the rocks, as if they were ropes one would use to climb up.
she looked up almost forgetting the girl had been there. this usually happened when she was focused on something. everything around her, she would tune it out. not on purpose of course."it's nice to meet you!"she said with a smile on her face.
had it not been for the ears and tail, natasha could of mistaken lily for a mermaid. sadly enough she had yet to met one, well one in their natural form. it wasn't an everyday thing to walk around asking if you could see someone's tail. that sort of behavior would of been rather odd."how's the water?"she asked randomly as she worked.
