Her mother always admired beautiful things and she was one of them.

The first hazy memory that was recounted back to her was that of being clutched gently by a mysterious woman, silver tresses pooling around her features. After that, she left her small child -- away on a door step to be cared for, cradled in a soft and warm blanket. That is one of the memories Selene's mother tells her as a child when she asked if mother was her real mother because a pair of humans couldn't have given birth to an usagimimi. And she was right.

She was curious of her real name and origin. What did her real mother name her? Did she even have one? Why did she leave her here? Why did she choose a rich human family to raise her? But she didn't press on it much because mother disliked it. Mother found it rude and ungrateful for Selene to ask too many questions. But mother still loved Selene, she loved her very much like Selene was her own because Selene was beautiful.

As Selene grew she adopted the tendencies of a young lady -- don't talk too much, always be neatly groomed, no elbows on the table, and much more. Her mother always loved beautiful things and as long as Selene's unsightly ears and tail were hidden mother thought of her as beautiful; non-human things and disobedience was ugly and ugly things were to be disposed of as her Mother had always reminded her. She didn't want to be left alone so the usagimimi always made sure to keep up with grooming to keep her looks in check, not only was it mandatory by mother but it made her happy to be praised by others. Selene was just a pretty face, after all. Mother made her take many things from dance lessons to cooking classes. Mother liked Selene being busy and well rounded, as all young ladies should be. Mother did push her into one direction which was fashion -- she was pretty and thin, so Mother assured her it was something she liked. Honestly Selene didn't but if it made mother happy...

At school she did not have friends, she simply attended classes and studied hard to get wonderful marks. She may have been pursued but she paid no heed. Eventually people left her alone, any attention was negative from them. That was fine though, maybe she deserved it. The only thing she looked forward to was going home anyways. It happened in her 3rd year of the academy. That's when everything collapsed under her so quickly, her foundations, her family, her life -- everything. Her father, a man she admired but wasn't exactly close with, ran away with a mistress. Packed away and everything, he left only a note saying his good byes. Her mother did not seem very affected by it however Selene was. Supposedly her father felt neglected in his relationship with her mother, making Selene wonder if it was her fault. Mother always was around her instead of father. Maybe Father always hated her like everyone at school and her birth mother. Only Mother loves her in this world.

Soon after though even Mother left her alone, she became very ill from "stress," the doctors said. Selene stayed by her side though, and one day she found Mother sleeping peacefully in her bed with an emptied bottle of pills next to her. Maybe Mother didn't love her afterall. She was left as the heiress despite not being a blood relative. Honestly Selene doesn't know what to do anymore. Mother took care of that, Mother took care of everything. But she continues to be pretty for modelling because that's what Mother would have wanted. She's also trying to open the family more like a socialite Mother was.

Maybe she does know what to do after all.

• Always wanted to indulge in school activities like clubs or sports, but she isn't very good with people so it's discouraging for her... This goes along with actually making friends too.
• Enjoys cooking, sewing, literature, and the like.
• Has a big appetite but she's always eaten almost macroscopic portions due to dieting. Her mother told her it's the only way she'd stay thin and pretty. Normally this means she takes extra supplements.
• Always hides her rabbit features.
