Events
the valentines dance is open to all. staff will post a starting thread and you can post an entry or make a thread of your own. the dance will take place near the beach. its all outdoors with the dance floor being in large pavilion.
for those that show up without a date. fret not. we have a little sign up sheet for blind dates.
if you don't want your character to participate in the blind date, don't worry they can still be part of the dance.
apart from the dance there will be food/drinks and of course access to the beach.

Now that his game was about to be published he couldn't be more excited if he wanted to be! This meant as soon as the game was launched and the sells started pouring in then he could put a down payment on a place! he could put some money back for the new place and everything. just thinking about it made him so happy that he couldn't sit down in his seat. When he got the text, in the middle of his class, he jumped right out of his seat.
"Yes, yes! He screamed out. Sure that caused everyone to look at him and the teacher to start nagging at him but he really didn't care. Being told to sit down Augustine just looked over at his teacher, a toothy grin even. "sorry teach! I have something that i have to do. Go ahead put me down for detention!" he cried out happily as he ran out the classroom despite the teacher yelling at him to get back to class. Like hell he would!
Running down the hall he slid as he tried to stop when he found the classroom that his brother was in. Being the klutz that he was though, He end up just sliding and falling on his face again. Damn it he needed to learn to wear slip resistant shoes or he was going to really hurt himself. Looking in the classroom door he finally found his brother. Getting the boys attention was going to be hard because it seemed like he was spacing again.
So Augustine waved his hands in the air to get someone's attention. when someone finally noticed him he motioned for Basile, telling them to get his brothers attention. When Basile finally looked over at him he held his phone up, waving it trying to tell him to look at his phone. Quickly sending his brother a text saying that his game got the green light, that it was approved! He quickly sent another saying he better get his needle and thread ready! That he needed him to help make the costumes!
Getting a reply back from his brother he couldn't be happier. Waving bye at his brother he quickly ran off and headed off campus. Yes he knew that this meant his father would be called in again. But really, It wasn't like Tavi, Octavian had anything better to do. After all he knew Yuuma wouldn't be the one taking care of it because what happen last time. Grinning he made his way over to the library because, frankly if he ran home then tavi would know he skipped at least three of his classes!
After making it to the library he quickly showed his Id card so he could run over to the computers. After making a wanted ad, a wanted poster he quickly went to print off a few of them. Figuring that he would at least post a few in the ton, if not one in the newspaper later saying he needed a make up artist! Once he grabbed his flyers he paid the lady for the copies before running out the library nearly running into someone. Nodding his head as a sorry he kept running off. Only to dead stop and post a flyer on the library board, after all he asked just to make sure.
Going around town he posted a few on some stores, making sure it was okay first. After hanging up about eight he found himself exhausted so he took a deep breath as he flopped down on the bench. Looking down at his phone he made sure it was on ring instead of vibrate just incase! The phone was fully charged to so he couldn't help but to get excited thinking that he might actually get someone to help him before opening day! They told him that he was going to be showcasing the game at the next con and he couldn't wait! He wanted to see Basile, as well as his family's face when they seen that his game was actually a thing now!

Mars didn't have the busiest schedule at the moment. Their college classes weren't the heaviest workload ever, so they were kind of hoping to find a job at the moment. That being said, jobs for makeup artists were either a one time thing, or impossible to find. So the only next logical option was getting a part time job instead. That's why there were walking around town looking for job postings and help wanted signs. A lot of them just weren't things that Mars wanted to do at all.
So mostly they were just walking around town and groaning. They just really wanted something to do other than school. It would at least get them something to do. That's why when they saw a help wanted sign on a makeup store's window they figured a part time job at a makeup store would probably be the best choice for them, if nothing else.
They were about to walk in the door when they saw another flier, this one having a more independently made feel to it. Mars backed up and started reading through the flier. Okay so not only was this a makeup job, but a makeup job for a video game? That would probably have tons of cool makeup associated with it!
Imediately they went into the store and grabbed the flier. They pulled out their phone and failed the number of the flier before going to sit on a bench outside the store. Mars looked at the white haired boy sitting next to them and grinned before waiting to hear if anybody would pick up the phone. Hopefully they weren't too late to get the job and nobody else had taken the job.

Augustine was so happy right now. He felt like he was finally getting his chance to prove to his father that he was able to keep his word. That he could be responsible! That he was actually going places in his life and he could in fact take care of him and Basile! So sitting there looking at his phone he had considered testing or calling his brother. But again, he had just ditched out of three classes and he knew his brother would be in class so he finally decided against it. He knew he had to be patient but he felt like.. Well Basile when he got the part he wanted!
So naturally he was going to be over excited! After all most didn't get their big break until later on in life. So he considered himself lucky! Because for once his family had nothing to do with it. They had no part in him getting somewhere. He didn't rely on his grandparents money! Just his own skill. To be honest he hadn't even noticed when someone set down beside them till he seen movement. Looking over at them he tilted his head wondering they was doing.. Was they holding a paper?
Looking over at the other he almost had a glimpse of what it was that the other was looking at! Almost! Before he had a chance to really look at the paper he found himself gasping and tossing his phone up in the air a bit in surprise only to fumble to catch it. Once he was sure he had ahold of it he seen the strange number. Clicking the call button he found himself just smiling a bit. Figuring if he was more optimistic and go-lucky then he might actually make others like him. although he was quiet popular as it was so it wasn't like he necessarily needed them.
"Hello?" He chimed happily. Maybe, just maybe if he was lucky then this number was someone wanting to take the job! Just thinking about it made the little demon smile happily. Although, when he found out just who was calling him he might be a little more shocked then excited. after all, how weird would it be to know the one sitting next to you was the one that was calling you? I mean it wasn't like Augustine would ever think anything of it.
When Mars had sat down on the bench they had sat there for convenience, not because they had some strange sixth sense for knowing who created the job posting. They grinned and swung their legs in front of them wildly as they wondered exactly what doing makeup for a video game would be like? Would they get to do a crazier style? Perhaps they might get to even try some new tactics. They supposed it all would depend on what style the game was in.
As Mars' phone started ringing they saw the white haired boy fling his own phone into the air. For just a moment Mars' attention was drawn to the other boy more so. They watched him fumbled to answer his ringing phone. It was funny how his phone had started ringing just as Mars had made their call to the number on the flier. Just about as funny as how the boy answered his phone at the same time as the person on the other end of their own call answered. How peculiar.
Mars launched theirself into a standing position in front of the boy as they came to a very sudden realization. It was too peculiar that the person would sound the same, get a call at the same time, and answer the call at the same time as a completely different person that Mars had called. The boy had to be the person who posted the flier! It was the only thing that made sense when they thought about it. They held the flier in front of the boy's face with a large smile plastered on their own face.
"Is this your flier? If it is then hello my name is Mars Anders I'm twenty years old and I would like to apply for the job of doing makeup on your team!" They stated rather quickly, and perhaps a bit too enthusiastically. They couldn't really help it. Alll they could think about was what cool makeup they might get to do. At the same time they were speaking into their phone as well though, because if this boy wasn't the person who had posted the flier then they didn't want to just leave the person on the phone hanging.

After answering the phone he felt confused. Why wasn't no one saying anything? And why was this person jumping up out of their seat like they was so excited? Before augustine had time to think about it he found something being shoved in his face. Well close enough to it anyways. Blinking a few times when he hung the phone up he grabbed the paper the other had in their hand. Oh hey that was his flier after all. So this person was who again? He asked himself a bit confused. That is until they started speaking. Mars Anders? Well he would make sure to remember that name.. But he didn't look twenty.. then again his dad didn't really look thirty eight either so who was he to complain? Smiling happily he nodded his head quickly, a playful smile spread across his face. "Yup! Thats mine! I'm in need of a make up artist real bad! I have a up coming game revele at the con! And i wanted to have my characters come alive. Because who ever has their characters there on stage with them when the new game is being launched?" He grinned this time.
He was so happy to think about it. He was going to make sure that he done something no one else did, or at least he was going to do something most didn't do! Seeing how excited the other was Augustine quickly reached his hand out. "I'm Augustine Mlikov! I'm seventeen and im the designer of the game! I have been working on it over a year now to make sure when i do show the game it as perfect! I got my big break and the green light so. If your interested then i'd love to see what you can do! Especially on my monsters. I warn you they do have allot of fine detail in them and i want to make it perfect. So i hope your good!" Maybe that was a little harsh, maybe it was exactly what the other wanted to hear. Either way he didn't care and would love to see how this person done with their make up design. To be honest he was so excited that he jumped up from his seat. he wasn't surprised when he was taller then the other.
Man Augustine was just ecstatic right now! If they was as good as he was thinking they would be.. because lets be honest you didn't say you wanted to take on a game design make up without knowing what you was doing. Then he was going to get ahead of himself and have the stuff ready way before show time! "Oh! i will pay you to! Don't think just cause im young i can't pay you. That would just be rude. I will.. Okay! The job will be in two weeks. Because that's when my game airs! But we will have to go over the designs and you putting the make up on the people a few times prior because. Lets face it some times we have to fix outfits because we have to replace someone for one reason or another!" here he went, he was getting all ahead of himself thinking about how everything would look, how everyone would come together.
He still had to get Basile to make his costumes first. Oh wait he was forgetting something wasn't he. "Oh! I will supply the make up too! So you really don't have to do nothing but show up and get started! Because i already have a very certain kind coming in! Because there are some colors you can't get around. If you want to keep what's left over your free too as well!" His upbeat and excitement he was told often came from his dad. So he just hoped he really found someone that could do his vision just. looking at the other augustine couldn't help but to laugh a bit and rub the back of his head. 'sorry I'm just excited right now.'

Mars probably should have thought about the fact that they looked a little crazy shoving the flier into this boy's face, but they were excited and when they got excited they acted more childish than usual. For a moment the boy didn't seem to have any reaction, or more of a confused one at least, but then he smiled, which in turn made Mars smile. So it was his flier! He was looking for a makeup artist! Everything sounded perfect for Mars and they couldn't help, but bounce a little where they were standing. If they managed to get this job then their work would get to go up on stage with this boy when he presented his game! It sounded nearly too good to be true for Mars.
When the boy, who introduced himself as Augustine, stuck out his hand and started talking about getting the green light for his game and the makeup, Mars took their hand and shook it in introduction. This boy was awfully young to have already created a game that he was going to present. At his age they probably hadn't been doing anything other than hoarding things in their dorm room and upgrading their makeup techniques. As he finished his little spiel Mars clasped their hands together and smiled. "Well, I hope I'm good enough. I love doing fine detail and honestly can't think of anything more interesting than doing the makeup for a monster. Right now I'm in school and studying cosmotology, but that should affect my preformance other than improving my abilities." Mars stated, hoping that what they were saying made them sound like a worthy candidate and not just somebody trying to only say the right things. They were trying to say the right things, but what they were saying was true.
When Augustine hopped up from the bench Mars realized once again just how short they were. The boy was younger than them, but taller. Then Augustine was off talking again, about payment and when the job would start and what it would entail. Mars was nodding along with him throughout all of his speaking. Okay, so two weeks to come up with how to make a few of this boy's characters come to life. That would definitely have enough time.
"So how many characters are you planning to have up there with you? How many are monsters? What do they all look like? Would I be doing body paint as well?" Mars inquired in rapid fire. They weren't nearly as experience doing body paint, but that didn't mean that they had never done it or were bad at it. Every time they had done body paint had turned out rather well, but not nearly good as their faces always turned out.
After that Augustine said something that made Mars pause for a moment. When he stopped Mars probably looked a little star struck with the boy in front of them. Free makeup? Custom ordered makeup that was different than what they had around here, never the less! They once again started bouncing in place. "That sounds fantastic! There's no way I can possibly say no to that. Oh! You probably want to see some examples of what I can do!" They stated and then started flicking through the photos on their phone until they had found a few of their looks that they had done over the years, three were from the same show and then one was just an extra they found. They held out their phone so that Augustine could see the pictures. "So these are some of the looks that I've created. Obviously these are just a few and i can do other things, but that's just to get and idea." They stated before laughing and adding in, "Oh and no worries about being excited! I'm excited too! This all sounds super exciting."

Augustine was one that had been working on game designs, graphics since he was small child! So this wasn't nothing that surprised him. He knew he could make a killer game! But he didn't expect his games to be approved and wanted this quick! He was fully expecting him to be in his twenties before he ever got on to be published so he was over excited now! But the best part? He had someone that wanted to do his designs for him! Because lets be honest he could draw up the designs on the computers. Easy. On real people... he didn't have the patients for that! He couldn't keep a steady hand and he knew it because he had tried before. When Basile put on little performances for the family he had actually tried and it didn't go his way. Shaking the thought out of his head he just listen to everything they had to say. So he was majoring in this? Well lucky him! He hit the jack pocket that was for sure.
Grinning he coul;dn't help but to be excited right now. This was sounding better by the second! So how many characters are you planning to have up there with you? "Four!" How many are monsters? "Three and the main character! What do they all look like? "Well one is going to be a farey, so very fin detail on their features! a Boss that will basically be a Giant dark skeleton.. so i'm sure that one will be extra fun! Then i have another boss that will be the final one in the game and he will be a Scary fucking little goblin. But don't let his size fool you is all i have to say! Haha.. then Basette! The star of everything. The star of my life to! You will have to be careful on him because he wiggles so much and his make up with have to be some tattoo designs too.
Which im sure wont be a problem for someone like you." Would I be doing body paint as well? "Yup! Especially on my skeleton and Basette!" As fast as he was asking them Augustine had a response and was ready to answer it with ease. He was just as excited as they was it seemed, if not more. Seeing Mars getting excited about the make up, Augustine couldn't help but to laugh at them. That was just the cutest thing. Was that how he looked when he talked about his games? Smirking a bit he actually thought that was funny. When they asked if he wanted to see some examples Augustine quickly Moved to stand beside them. Smiling happily as he looked over the boys designs. "Oh wow! you are really good see this first one! I like that allot. It's similar to how i need my faery's make up!" He exclaimed happily.
The more he looked thorough them the more he was getting excited. Quickly reaching into his pockets he grabbed some money out of his wallet. What? Allot of people liked to be paid up front. Besides he had to stop by the mall later to meet up with someone else he had business with so he had to have some money on hand. Counting his money he tried to think of how much a good down payment for assents was. Thinking about just how much work he was going to need done.. Handing them two hundred Augustine grinned playfully.
"Here! Your first payment. Since it be a few days since my stuff arrives! So make sure.. imma say four days from today you have the whole day free because im going to have a looong day! I already have my boys ready! Im just waiting on the makeup to arrive now!" Putting his wallet up he quickly grabbed his phone . "I'm going to program your number k! If you ever have any ideas and what not call me any time because i'll always have my phone on me..and i don't have designs on me! But they back at the academy with my laptop.. That i ran off without grabbing.. haha." Rubbing the back of his head he could feel a light blush crossing his cheeks.

Mars never really thought that their day would turn out this well. They figured they might go around, find some minimum wage, part time jobs somewhere and then they'd apply to them and get some boring job, not that they'd find a great job doing such fantastic makeup. As they brought up each of their questions Augustine answered them in time. Four characters, two boss monsters, a faerie, and somebody named Basette, who Mars didn't know, but assumed would be somewhat of the main character.
Okay so four characters in two weeks. Mars could do that no problem. If they didn't have somebody who already designed the characters then it would be a whole lot harder, but Augustine had already done the hard part, now all Mars had to do was bring them to life in the form of makeup. They grinned and bounced a little more.
"Oh for sure! That all sounds spectacular. Of course you'll have to send me the character designs of what they look like so I can start planning out how to do their designs. You should also send me some pictures of the models you were planning on using if you have them already so I can get some facial structures planned out." Mars rambled excitedly. They ran a hand through their bangs and pushed some hair out of their uncovered eye. Makeup was always an exciting topic for them.
They caught Augustine looking at them for a second and Mars was about to ask what it was, but then he stated that the first photo was similar to how he wanted the fairy to look. Mars clapped their hands a little. "Fantastic! That means that I've already got experience doing that type of technique. I'll be sure to make it unique, but having something I've done in the past makes it easier!" They exclaimed. Their thoughts were completely absorbed in the idea of what they could do for the designs after only hearing about the four in minimal detail, not even seeing a photo.
Then Augustine was handing them money. Mars' face, which probably already looked way to happy, lit up even more. "Wait does this mean I have the job?" They asked incredulously, listening to what the rest of the boy said in slight bafflement. "I'll make sure to have that day free for sure." Mars stated. They grabbed their phone again and pulled up their phone number so that Augustine could see it to type into his phone. They chuckled a little as he began to blush a little.
"No worries on those designs. I can wait for a while. All I'll have to do is figure out how to translate them onto a person's face, which really isn't too hard, execution is more of what needs practice. Oh! You should also send me what makeup brands you ordered so I can figure out what I'll be working with and if we'll need anything else." They explained then hummed softly for a second. "The full body painting will take longer and take up more supplies. If you want the same level of detail then I'll need some setting spray so that whatever they're wearing doesn't ruin the fine details. Also what brushes do you have? Should I bring my own? I could probably borrow an airbrush from somebody. That'll make the body painting a thousand times easier and will cut down on time. If I combine that with painting then I won't have to sacrifice any quality." After a while Mars was more mumbling to theirself rather than actually talking to Augustine anymore.
They might have seemed a little overexcited, but hey, they really liked makeup.
