Slade wasn't originally born on the island, instead he was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The only connection that Slade had to the island was his father who was originally from Kinau, but moved to Montreal to be with his mother. As expected, both of his parents were phoenixes. For the most part his parents spoke English, however, his grandparents spoke French; this allowed Slade to learn both French and English from a young age. A majority of Slade's life was spent quietly keeping to himself, even during school. At this time, Slade was painfully shy. His mother's continuous fussing over his safety caused him to grow a little fearful. Naturally, his parents noticed his shy behaviors and how he detached himself from others, and thus decided it was best to move for the sake of a fresh start.

Slade was eight when his parents decided it was time to move from Montreal to Kinau, the place where his father has grown up. His father took the liberty to show him the various sights found on the island, which in turn awakened Slade's adventurous attitude. For the longest time Slade's father, Anthony, had been a risk taker. When they first arrived, Slade's mother, Roselynn, busied herself with finding a job and acquainting herself with some of the locals. Thus, Slade spent a lot of time with his father and that risk taker attitude gradually made the painful shyness withdraw. He was still rather quiet and preferred to keep to himself, but Slade stopped avoiding conversations and soon began to make some good friends. He simply loved being in Kinau since not only was it warm, but it truly felt like home for Slade.

During the holidays the small family would travel back to Montreal to spend it with the grandparents on Roselynn's side. This was when Slade realized just how cold Montreal could be during the winter. Each trip made him gradually dislike the cold more and more. The years of going back and forth allowed him to continue learning French, especially since his grandparents didn't know English. Around the time that Slade turned ten, his mother thought it would be a grand idea to have mother-son bonding time when she didn't have work. These turned south pretty quick since his mother was always less adventurous and a pessimist at times. Heck, there was a time when he balanced on an old log and his mom got concerned it would break and injure him. Roselynn's constant over-protectiveness only made the thought of danger alluring for the young child. After only a mere month, mother-son bonding time became artsy activities like painting, drawing, arts and crafts, et cetera, which Slade was absolutely terrible at.

Eventually Slade found himself growing distant from his mother due to her constant coddling and protective nature. This caused him to spend more and more time with his father which in turn made him become adventurous, courageous and reckless like his dad. Considering their similar personality traits, Slade became very close with his father and would often go on hikes or do camping with him during the summer. Eventually as the years went on, mother-son bonding time would be neglected until it was practically nonexistent. Around the time when Slade was finishing up school was when he decided he wanted to be a bodyguard since the idea of protecting people seemed alluring. It was easy to say his mother did not approve one bit, in fact she was very upset with him for making such a dangerous choice. There was quite the verbal spectacle that ended with Slade and his mother being further apart than ever. Despite his mother's severe disapproval, Slade still went on to take the steps to become a bodyguard and was successful.


➳ Slade hates the cold with a passion. Due to this he loves hot drinks, especially tea.
➳ He hates alcohol for the sole reason of it makes him less alert.
➳ Despite being quiet a majority of the time, Slade tends to laugh a lot.
➳ Slade is a bisexual.
➳ Slade absolutely hates spiders and fears them. It's not bad enough to be considered a phobia.
➳ He has a habit of biting his lower lip when nervous and clicking his tongue when he thinks.
➳ Slade can speak both French and English fluently.
➳ It's not uncommon for Slade to do various other jobs besides his bodyguard work. These change frequently.
