Suibne rarely felt like he was missing anything, despite being raised in a single-parent household. Sure, he noticed the other kids with two parents, but there was nothing Ninian didn't do for him. As far as he was concerned, you only needed one parent, didn't you?Over the years he would encounter more female figures- teachers, family friends, and his friend's families- but no matter how many sugary sweet voices or sugar cookies they produced, Suibhne always went home to his daddy knowing he was every bit as good.
If you let Suib describe his life, he'll tell you about the camping trips and parrot back his daddy's stories with pride- did you know his daddy had millions of treasures all over the world? And that his daddy had lived forever, even as long as the Romans they learned about at school! Of course, stories like that get little boys beat up, but the little dragon boy wasn't deterred. Telling other kids stories was almost as important to the little kid as doing anything "scientific" - any experiment, any observation- the boy was entranced.
