Kenna St. Claire was born into a prominent family of Europe's British gentry, both also happened to be Faeries. Her mother and father both came from well known named families and had in fact been an arranged marriage. There was no love between Elizabeth and Leon St. Claire, in fact Elizabeth likely hated the man that she was forced to marry. It came as no surprise when she began to take other men to her bed shortly after the birth of their only child. Kenna was placed into the care of a wetnurse, rarely having any contact with her own mother though her father went out of his way to see his little girl. He was a kind and gentle man, if a bit on in his years. Even so he loved his daughter more than anything else in this world, and he had believed that he could learn to love the girls mother but she was bound and determined to see that such a thing did not happen.

As the tiny blonde girl grew she could not quite understand why every time she saw her father alone he looked so absolutely sad. Kenna had no idea that her mother was causing the man such pain, that the servants where gossiping about the lady of the house and her loose ways. Such things where kept from the little lady, by strict orders from her father she would come to find out. Even from this Leon protected his daughter, he didn't want Kenna to think even less of her mother than she already did when in reality Kenna barely even knew the woman who had given birth to her. It was a very lonely upbringing, there where no other children in the house, not even children of the staff. It was because of this that Kenna turned to books, and has little to no idea how to socialize with people.

In the beginning Kenna was tutored from home, she lacked for no type of education. Once her schooling started Kenna's mother seemed to take a slight interest - demanding that Kenna learn proper manners and etiquette. The woman who taught Kenna aforementioned things was not a nice woman, in fact she took pleasure in making Kenna cry and feel worthless. Once her father found out about such things she did not stay in his employ for much longer. Which of course did not please Elizabeth, she demanded that the woman recieve her postition back that she was the only one who was teaching Kenna anything worth while. That the only thing Kenna needed to worry about was making herself a good wife to get married one day. Leon did not agree with such things, he wanted his daughter to be able to take care of herself and not depend on someone to take care of her much to his wifes horror. To ensure that such a thing would be possible when Kenna turned fifteen it was decided that she would be attending a public school overseas.

Elizabeth tried to convine Leon to change his mind, but he would hear nothing of her complaints to Elizabeth their daughter was nothing but a pawn to further her own game and she would never allow his daughter to be used in such a way. Now for the past couple of months has been in a town named Kinau. She still hasn't made any friends in her new school but then again she doesn't quite know how to make friends either.
