'Cause tonight I'm feeling like an astronaut sending SOS from this tiny box, and I lost all signal when I lifted up. Now I'm stuck out here and the world forgot, can I please come down? 'Cause I'm tired of drifting around and round. Can I please come down? |
● To the lonely people that the world forgot
Are you out there?
Are you out there?
What a tiresome day it was. He had a pop quiz in his astrology class, a diorama on the solar system for cosmology, and an essay due in computer science. It was a handful but Oliver managed to hand it all in on time. Since it was Friday he was able to go back to the apartment and relax for the weekend. Although Oliver wanted to just lay on his couch and play Resident Evil, he had an urge to go out for once. There wasn't much to do that was particularly exciting, well nothing that currently came to mind anyways. Going to the cafè so late would be boring considering how it was nearly a ghost town by now. Wouldn't it be closed anyways? Oliver never really paid attention to the hours.
The red-head lay motionless on the couch, his body sprawled out with his back to the cushions. His eyes examined the ceiling, thinking the blank slate above him would let his mind think of an idea. There was a place he had passed by one night after doing a late run to the convenient store (Gotta stock up on the Dr. Pepper when it comes to game night!). The place was Revo and remembers it being a bar. At least that was the gist of it. Perhaps that would be the place to spend his Friday night. Oliver is not a heavy drinker since he's quite the lightweight, but if he just sipped on some beer there would be no harm.
Oliver yelled loudly as he rolled off the couch, announcing to his neighbours that this boy was on the move. He sauntered into his room and flung open his wardrobe, revealing all his clothes. "What will you wear? Is it finally time to dress to impress!?" He exclaimed to himself while rummaging through his vast amount of shirts. Oliver really only wore the same 5 shirts every week since they were most comfortable, the others were brand new and waiting patiently for use in his wardrobe. Such a shame it took him this long to notice them. "This'll do!" He hyped. Oliver slipped into a pitch black t-shirt and wore denim jeans that hugged him generously in the right places. He put on his necklace before throwing on a brown leather coat. Oliver posed in front of the mirror, making ridiculous faces in the process. "You sure do look handsome there boy!" He teased while making suggestive hand gestures. Oliver was ready to go out.
When he arrived at the front of the building, he stared at the lights that read 'Revo'. He was a little scared, surprisingly. He wasn't sure what to expect since he hadn't been here before. Oliver sucked a huge breath in before walking inside. There was a dance floor in the middle of the building, people were going hard with random moves while others stayed to the side at tables chatting. To the left he saw the bar, but he would prefer to sit at a small table near it rather than the bar itself. Oliver wandered over to a table that seated two and sat down. He was greeted by a worker that asked him what he wanted to drink. Oliver told her a beer would satisfy his taste buds. She fled to fetch him a beer and he patiently waited.
It had been some time and he was now on his third beer of the night. Oliver was having a modest time, it wasn't overly exposing but it wasn't dull either. He felt content with just watching people sloppily try to dance on the floor, giving Oliver a reason to chuckle every now and then. Perhaps he found a regular place to visit now.
