Meet your senior class president of Kala Academy.

Some might call him bookish, referring to the obsessive need of his to carry a book just in case he gets bored. Others note Miko's charisma and friendly disposition, namely the way he seems to think he can make everyone smile. But more than bookishness and charisma, Mikoni's a.d.h.d. and his fascination with code are the worst-kept secrets about him.

His forgetful nature is a close second. The boy's always got some alarm or other going off, reminding him what was scheduled next. Not that his by-the-calendar approach works: the boy's impulsive behavior negates a lot of the foreplanning of the calendar. And yet, he's that person that seems to have the uncanny luck of everything always working out.

Well... almost everything. Miko's popular on the surface, generally well-liked by his classmates, voted into student government all four years of high school. But beyond the surface, Mikoni's at times self-centered behaviors and inability to consistently devote any meaningful amount of attention to anyone have dissuaded nearly every serious relationship Miko's been a part of.

Miko often comes off as busy and distracted. He's always rushed, almost always energized and ready for the "next" thing, typically before he's completed his last project. But his spontaneous spirit, ability to include others, and his adventurous, creative inclinations are still a source of magnetism for him.

Mikoni's parents were successful, wealthy individuals. His father was an O'ahu island lawyer living in Kinau, his mother a national advertisement executive. For the most part his mother travelled and the men "fended" for themselves during his childhood, until the time away became more permanently defined as a separation, and then a divorce.

Mikoni was seven when it was finalized.

After that, it was Mikoni and his two older brothers in the large house. Mikoni's father tried his best, but the three boys raised themselves, spending most afternoons and often nights alone while their father stayed at the office working.

Mikoni's siblings weren't the warm fuzzy type. Resentful of their mother, unnoticed by their father, and saddled with the "precious" baby of the family, they were less than model big brothers. In fact, Mikoni learned it was best to avoid them all together, rather than endure the physicality of their resentments (though he often found himself falling victim to it, regardless)

As a method of coping with his negative home, Miko threw himself into building a reputation at school and fostered an interest in coding, two passions that would remain invaluable to Mikoni as he aged.
